Reduce Your Stress and Increase Your Success When Interviewing

Many of us by choice or by circumstance currently find ourselves interviewing for a new job or different position. In this Quick Tip video, I provide specific tips to help prepare and practice for your next interview. I highlight several best practices for interviewing including:

(1) Identify key themes that you want to get across to your interviewer.
(2) Come up with specific examples that support your themes. Stock pile these.
(3) When it comes to answering, draw from your examples and assemble them into concise answers that reveal your themes.
(4) Practice answering potential interview questions. I provide some ideas of where to get these practice questions.

Often, you are not hired on the spot. Beyond answering questions well, part of your job is to equip your interviewer with the information they need to talk about you to others involved in the hiring process. By appearing confident and prepared while providing concise answers with consistent themes, you help your interviewer represent you well to others.
